Reason for building/tell us the story behind it from your views. Why this vehichle, what
was your motivation and any stories you want to share along it’s process. = After many
years and many rides taking them to and from different shops and none getting done. He
decided to step away from customizing any vehicles. One day on a Facebook post he saw
Frank Ayon from Phat Paint Customs post pictures of bagged painted rides. Juan Avila reached
out and asked who did the trucks? Frank replied that him, his brother Jossele Ayon, and the
crew at Phat Paint Customs built those rides. He couldn’t believe that the young kid Frank he
met years ago was now building dream rides.
Name of Ride and story behind it = “Jarrito” Built on accident, Juan brought the truck in to
repair a rough riding lowering kit. Before he knew it, he got the bug. He decided to bag it, once it
hit the ground and he looked around he realized it needed paint. Not just any paint, Phat Paint.
After going back and forth on colors. Juan and Frank decided a custom mixed had to be done.
Before paint was added they decided to ditch the rear bumper and slap a roll pan on. Shave
third brake light, and bed rails. Next was the engine bay, relocating wiring, battery, and adding
the front tubs this was in the hands of Chris KRASH Kappler. Now it was time for body work and
paint and graphics. Frank and Jossele took on the task glass, doors, bed, fenders were
unhinged for a proper makeover. After the truck was in its final assembly Juan decided the truck
needed a little more customizing that included shaving tailgate handle and door handles. So
back to paint it went to Charlie Slam , and Maxx wet sanded the now shaved parts for paint.
Makko at Lswerx handled shaved door wiring. Up next was upholstery which included custom
door panels, center console, carpet headliner plastics steering wheel and dash had to be
redone. The makeover was complete.
