Reason for building/tell us the story behind it from your views. Why this vehichle, what was your motivation and any stories you want to share along it’s process. =
So I wanted something on air ride that multiple people could fit in but could still tow a trailer since it was going to be driven. I purchased the truck in March of 2015. Around this time I had been hanging around No Regrets so seeing the quality of the club rides raised the bar for me. A few years passed then in February 2018 I became a petitioner for the club that lit a fire in me, it was time to step it up. I then got in touch with the guys over at Chaotic Customs for the ¾ body drop. Thanks to there fast and quality work I got the truck back quick. I drove it a few months during this time me and Frank Ayon at Phat Paint Customs had been talking about painting the truck. Long story short the Phat Paint team quickly gave me back a painted truck far beyond what I expected. Then last year it was time to change up the paint and do a few more mods to finish it up.
Name of Ride and story behind it =
La Crewlera
Originally named my Neptune because of the vision I had for it eventually renamed La Crewlera Frank Ayon by which seems to fit the truck better. Besides names we give ourselves arnt ever as cool as those given to us.
Body Mods/ Paint (include performed by) =
1st time around the Phat Paint team shaved bed rails gas door and smoothed out existing front wheel tubs. In 2023 it was time for a Butt lift. Taillight fillers, rollpan, and tailgate handle relocator from Mod Shop metal works were ordered. Charlie “Slam” and Justin Maxx removed the taillights rear bumper and tailgate handle. Then Frank and Jossele fit up trim and burnt in the taillight fillers, rollpan, and tailgate filler. Followed by grinding, and body working to a smooth perfection followed by some 5311 Tamco primer. La Crewlera could not just have a BBL done, graphics needed to be just as PHRESH as the butt lift, I told them to just do what they do!! New wild bright colors, drop shadows and graphics on tailgate were burried in Tamco clear coat to give La Crewlera the justice it deserved coming out the 2nd time around with a new Attitude. PHAT PAINT CUSTOMS did it Again.
Suspension (include performed by) =
Mike, Rocky and the team over at Chaotic Customs cut out the old and put in the new. Starting with cutting the frame at the firewall and burning in the new ¾ frame to factory front clip. Followed by narrowed lower control arms and raising the uppers running slam specialties bags. In the rear the differential was narrowed, two link with built in panhard bar running bag on bar and slam specialties bags. To finish it off Airlift 3p, 2pack Viair 480 chrome compressors, and a 5 gallon tank were installed.
